PRAGUE, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Up to 300,000 people took part in the Pride Parade in support of sexual minorities on Saturday in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic.
The carnival march is the culmination of the 9th Prague Pride festival of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community (LGBT).
Participants in the parade have met at Wenceslas Square since the morning. At 12:45, the parade in traditional rainbow colors set off for a march through the city center and ended at Letna plain a few hours later. Security was supervised by dozens of police officers, and the parade required temporary restrictions on traffic.
In addition to the participants and sympathizers of Prague Pride, its opponents also appeared at Wenceslas Square. They carried flags and banners, referring to Jesus Christ and reading that march participants should fear the God's wrath.
